It’s been a little while since I got to shoot a birth and I was so excited to do it again. There is something so special about being present at the birth of a child. That goes without saying. Sarah was having her third homebirth and right when I met her (and her sweet daughter who was with her), I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Not only were they waiting to have their baby, they were also in the middle of building their tiny home. She went into labor a little early and they were still under construction, but it was perfectly cozy and felt like a sweet home. The gender of the baby was a surprise and it was so fun to get to watch them all find out together.
Their baby boy was born on a beautiful summer day in their home overlooking the ocean. The sprinkler was going over the gardens, the kids were playing outside and making flower crowns.. it was all kind of perfect. Welcome to the world baby Sage!
