Few things make me happier in this world than getting to be present while my closest friends give birth. I’ve had the great honor of watching most of my favorite women go through this challenge and it never gets any less amazing to witness. Home births are my favorite thing to shoot and probably always will be.
I came to Abby’s house at dinner time and got home at 4am, it was a long night but so worth it. This woman worked so, so hard to get baby Emma out into this world but she did it. I’ve never seen someone work so hard and with so much strength.
About 3 days later we went into a shelter in place for COVID-19. Looks like I won’t be shooting any more births this year, which is sad to say. But I’m thankful I got to be there for this one. It was great working again with Alli from Haven Midwifery and with Abby’s mom who is a midwife in Tennessee.
