Nothing beats a small, quaint wedding with only your closest family and friends coming together to support your marriage, and that’s exactly what this wedding was. We’ve been excited to shoot Shaun and Anne’s wedding day all year long, and it was worth the wait. This couple was so sweet through out the entire process, making sure we felt more like guests than photographers. Their day was beautiful and relaxing, exactly what I think they were trying to make it. They were married in a private residence right on Highway 1 called the Wind and Sea, over looking the beautiful northern California ocean that they happened to be able to rent for their wedding weekend. The views were amazing, the property was just as amazing and the overall feel of this wedding was simple.

We had the best weekend too. We flew up a full day early {a 5am flight} and spent an entire day in Monterey, CA. It was so nice feeling normal for a day after being on a baby’s schedule for so long. It was just the two of us, we went to breakfast, went to the aquarium {both Grayson and I LOVE aquariums, we were both originally marine biology majors in college!} We spent hours walking around, not feeling rushed at all for the first time in 9 months. We took a nap {what?!?} and went back out to a big park, got some dinner and drove along the coast during sunset. The next morning we slept in {10 hours!! I haven’t slept more than 6 consecutive hours in 9 months!} and drove down to Big Sur. Before the wedding we stopped at a fruit stand and grabbed some fruit, went on a small hike then shot the wedding! It was perfect.

The entire wedding was great and this was exactly the wedding we needed to shoot to top it off.

There was just one bridesmaid and one groomsman for the day. Nice and simple.

    Practicing his vows.

This was the amazing property they were married on. The views were incredible. Everyone walked down the hill to the patio overlooking the ocean.

Shauna and Anne walked down the “isle” together.

They were so fun and easy to shoot. It was natural and flowed so well, we barely had to give them any direction at all!

These cookies were SO GOOD. Grayson and I ate so many between the two of us, haha.

Their reception was just a nice dinner out on the patio.

    Cheers

We ran out just as the sun was setting to shoot a bit more.

Bon fire at the ceremony site
