  • A nice note

    Friday, November 20 | Comments

    Remember these guys? Patrick and Myesa Nichole are so awesome, we still keep in touch via Facebook (with Tbone too). They wrote us a really nice thank you note a while back and I decided to post it! I know, I know, there hasn’t been many news posts! We had a big busy time and now it’s our well needed down time. We’ve just been enjoying our free time and i picked up crocheting.. that’s right, I’m a scarf making maniac! But soon there will be a post of our new Ferretssssss!!!

    “Hey Heather and Grayson,I just wanted to thank you very much for yesterday, not only for being the Witnesses at our Wedding, but for making the day special for the both of us as well. We enjoyed the time spent with you both taking photos from the wedding all the way down to Laguna Beach. You both made our first afternoon as Husband and Wife enjoyable, even Tbone seemed to miss the camera once home. And a special thanks to Grayson for carting Tbone around in his arms all afternoon although i don’t think he (or Tbone) minded that one bit. You both made the afternoon easy and fun, we really enjoyed the day immensely and we owe you a special thanks for that. We can’t wait for the pictures and are very happy we chose you both for our special day. Thanks for everything – we also really enjoyed having you both there. It makes it special in a way which we are both glad we get to tell our children about. How we spent our first hours together as husband and wife with our 2 photographers, couldn’t have picked a nicer couple to have there on our special day. You both truly are great people, and FUN. We had an absolute ball shooting with you and Tbone. Thanks very much!”

    As you know, Grayson and I went to Chicago recently and this is why. It was one HECTIC weekend. We shot a wedding in California Saturday night, got off around 9:30 and made a 1:15AM flight to Chicago to shoot this wedding the next day! But after all was said and done, it was well worth it. This is my dream wedding- homemade, backyard BBQ, ceremony is a simple, gorgeous park and an awesome couple with a great vintage style. We almost couldn’t contain ourselves, I felt like I was going to hyperventilate after every photo, haha. Jen and Jeff were one of the most awesome couples we’ve worked with. They’ve been together for years upon years, since high school I believe.  I don’t know all the details, but Jeff was diagnosed with cancer and recently dealt with that, but he’s doing much better. They had a fundraiser called “Team Jeff” a couple months back. On top of that, they also run a small wedding detail design business called Eventcetera. Well here are some photos, I had to break it into 2 posts because there were so many awesome elements to their day,  I just couldn’t decide.

    P.S: If you ever go to Chicago, avoid getting lost on the toll roads, it costs a lot to get lost!

    Chris + Jessica- {Cannon Beach, OR}

    Sunday, October 25 | Comments

    This was the last wedding on our little travel circuit and it was a great ending! Chris and Jessica got married in Cannon Beach, OR it was our first time there and we loved it. It was this cute, tiny beach town.. I found an awesome fabric shop and went nuts in there. Our house is going to be covered in pillows! Well they invited us up for dinner the night before the wedding and we got a glimpse into what tomorrow held. This wedding acted as 2 things: a wedding {obviously} and a family reunion. It was a small gathering of 40 people or so, mostly family from all over and some friends. Jessica and Chris actually live in WA so it was a trip for them too. Most of them were staying in the house they rented {slept 16!}. The whole thing reminded me of Dan in Real Life. {If you haven’t seen that movie, see it, it’s awesome}. It was such a good environment. Ladies cooking, dancing in the kitchen and drinking wine- a good time.

    The wedding was great, not too cold out {until the sun went down then everything was moved inside. It was CHI-LLY!} They had a very informal ceremony out of the deck, everyone stood, no rehersal, just marriage. Lots of hand made cuteness, we loved it. So here are the photos, enjoy and leave a comment if you like them!

    Zach and Sara! Anyone know that Ben Fold’s song ABOUT Zach and Sara? You should! Anyway, you may remember Zach and Sara from their awesome engagement shoot in LA. We got to shoot their wedding too! Their day was laid out a bit differently, they had a private ceremony and came out afterwords for everyone to see! Poor Sara was coming out of a bad flu from the day before {every brides biggest nightmare} so she wasn’t feeling her best. But she’s a trooper, she worked through the near throwing up to get the photos! So they day went on and it was great! We stopped at Panera Bread {so good} to eat AND to sit in the air conditioning, it was quite a hot day, then the power went out! Haha. Anyway, we love this couple, they’re so easy/fun to work with and.. they’re just great.

    P.S: It’s Grayson’s birthday today!!!! Happy birthday schnitzel!

    They met rock climbing (which is almost how they met us, kinda). He was her climbing instructor so it was kinda cute that they wanted to use the caribeaners for a ring shot.
